WCCO to get a New Website?
(8/5/10) WCCO.com might be getting a new look...and maybe even a new name. CBS Television Stations and CBS Radio are combining their websites in markets where they both operate into a single website. As you may know CBS also owns local news talk station WCCO (AM 830). Yesterday WCBS-TV in New York dropped its website and combined it with New York radio stations, WCBS-AM, WINS-AM, and WFAN-AM to launch CBSNewYork.com. After checking, it doesn't look like CBS has registered CBSTwinCities.com, but with call letters for both stations being the same, WCCO.com could still be used. I tried earlier today to reach WCCO for confirmation and didn't get a response.
FOX9 Testing New "Huckabee" Talk Show
(7/29/10) Local FOX station KMSP is taking part in a six-week test run of Former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee's new talk show, The Huckabee Show. FOX is testing the show on seven stations nationwide. Huckabee airs weekdays at 10:00am on FOX9. The first episode of the show aired on Monday morning (7/26) and got 1.0/5 share. That was behind The Price Is Right on WCCO and The View on KSTP. The show went up to 1.5/6 share with it's second episode on Tuesday (7/27).
(7/22/10) I did some searching this morning to find which personalities could be on their way out at some Twin Cities TV stations. Here's who demo reels I found online today.
- Maggie Newland: KSTP
- Bill Keller: KMSP
- Joe Mazan: KSTP
- Steve Shaw: KSTP
It's not confirmed if any of these people are leaving, just seem to be looking for a new opportunity to come along. Just a heads up if you see them disappearing from the airwaves.
